Current Gift Funds Operated by the Town of Provincetown, pursuant to MGL Ch. 44 S 53A:

    Library Gift Fund –Available to donate online. Established February 5, 1981.

    Town Hall Piano Gift Fund –Available to donate online. Voted May 22, 2006 to establish a special gift fund, with the balance in said fund to be expended without further appropriation by the Town Manager in consultation with the Board of Selectman to maintain, make repairs to, and/or replace the piano in the Town Hall Auditorium.

    Beautification Gift Fund –Available to donate online. Established 2009.

    Town Hall Improvement Gift Fund –Available to donate online. The Board of Selectmen voted May 11, 2009 to establish a special Town Hall Project Gift Fund, with the balance in said fund to be expended without further appropriation by the Town Manager to maintain and make repairs to the Town Hall.

    Recreation Gift Fund –Available to donate online. Established February 5, 1981.

    Holiday Celebration Gift Fund –Available to donate online. Established in 2005, and includes the previously held “Fireworks Gift Fund.”

    History Project Gift Fund –Available to donate online. The Board of Selectmen voted on September 11, 2006 to authorize use of the second and third floor of the Freeman Street building to the History Preservation Project, as supervised by the Town Clerk, through June 30, 2007, for the purposes of digitizing documents for future use for research and public information, and to establish a special gift fund to further the goals of the History Preservation Project. Donations to this fund will only be used for expenses related to the goals of the History Preservation Project. Monies can only be expended from a gift fund by vote of the Board of Selectmen for the purposes for which the fund was established.

    Provincetown AIDS Memorial Gift Fund –Available to donate online. Established in 2013 by the Board of Selectmen in conjunction with the Provincetown Cultural Council. The gift fund allows members of the public to donate directly to the AIDS Memorial. This mechanism allows members of the Cultural Council to conduct fundraising events and to use public donations to carry out their mission on an on-going basis. Donations in any amount are greatly appreciated.

    Cemetery Gift Fund –Available to donate online. Established May 29, 2012. The gift fund allows the Cemetery Commission to use public donations to carry out their mission.

    Rose Dorothea Gift Fund –Available to donate online. Established February 27, 2017. The gift fund allows the Historical Commission to use public donations to carry out maintenance and care of the Rose Dorothea monuments.

    Marriage Defense Gift Fund –Available to donate online. Established May 17, 2004. Original funding by Finance Committee reserve fund transfer. This fund allows fund to be expended for legal expenditures to defend same sex marriages.

    Council on Aging (COA) Gift Fund –Available to donate online. Established December 11, 2017. This fund allows the COA to use public donations to support COA programs.

    Town Hall Auditorium Lights/Sound Gift Fund –Available to donate online.

    Skate Park Gift Fund –Available to donate online.

    Town Hall Auditorium Chairs Gift Fund –Available to donate online.

    Disability Commission Gift Fund –Available to donate online.

    Art and Conservation Gift Fund –Available to donate online.

    Education Gift Fund –Available to donate online.

    Recycling and Renewable Energy Gift Fund –Available to donate online.

    Suzanne’s Garden Gift Fund –Available to donate online.

    Pet Emergency Shelter Gift Fund –Available to donate online.

    Historical Commission Gift Fund –Available to donate online.

    Bicycle Path Gift Fund –Available to donate online.

    Historic Preservation Gift Fund –Available to donate online.    

    Public Fountain Gift Fund –Available to donate online.
