Family Search image_thumb.jpg

This is a wonderful, comprehensive resource. If you are researching your family history, family tree or any genealogical research, the Provincetown Library can request for you census, vital, probate and church records of your ancestors from the worldwide indexing project of the Church of Latter Day Saints called FamilySearch. The microfilm or microfiche is then sent to us and you can view this on the Library's microfim reader printer.

  • You will need to search for the material yourself through the various search options on FamilySearch.
  • When you locate the material you want, click on View Film Notes and copy down the title of the item, film location number and item number. Then fill out the microfilm/fiche order card at the Library front desk.
  • When you submit this request we will order the items for you.
You will then be responsible for the delivery and return postal fees when you come to retrieve the items you borrowed.
