Lower Cape Community Development Partnership:
Lower Cape Community Development Partnership [CDP], formerly known as the Lower Cape Cod Community Development Corporation, is a community based non-profit organization created in 1992 by community leaders and activists who believed the eight towns of the Lower Cape needed an organization focused on affordable housing and economic development issues unique to the area. The CDP manages numerous Lower Cape developments and ownership opportunities and provides other resources with regard to housing including Homebuyer Education classes.
This 3-day course is designed to help first time home buyers make informed decisions along the path to homeownership. The course is certified through the Massachusetts Homeownership Collaborative and fulfills the prerequisite for a ONE mortgage. The workshop covers: credit health and budgeting; mortgage process and options; finding the right home and making an offer; appraisals; home inspection; legal procedures and protections; insurance protection; home energy audits and savings; ongoing homeownership.

The Community Housing Council has approved a request for $20,000 from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund to fund an emergency housing assistance program in Provincetown. The funds are administered for Provincetown residents under a grant agreement with the Homeless Prevention Council
and provide emergency housing counseling and assistance to prevent homelessness.

Homeless Prevention Council
The Homeless Prevention Council works to prevent homelessness before it happens in the eight towns of the Lower and Outer Cape (Chatham, Harwich, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, and Provincetown). They provide professional case management, which includes counseling, advocacy and referral services to appropriate resources.
