Provincetown Housing Summit and Plan of Action

Housing Summit for Provincetown: Thursday, September 21st from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Town of Provincetown, through its Board of Selectmen, Community Preservation Committee, Housing Authority, and Local Housing Partnership host a Housing Summit for Provincetown on Thursday, September 21st from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Provincetown Inn in Provincetown.

Plan of Action: Working Groups from the Housing Summit will meet with the consultant on September 27th, 28th, and 29th, at the times and locations indicated below.

Establish Preliminary Target Goals
Set up Working Groups

Step II Working Groups September - November 2006

Working groups will propose key action initiatives and research their viability with the help of the consultant in order to prepare a “case” for each action to be considered as part of the action plan.

  • September 27-29th 1st Meeting (with Consultant) Identify possible initiatives; discuss hurdles to accomplishment and implications of action; begin identifying financial requirements and community support issues; determine research needs.

  • October (dates set by group) 2nd Meeting (without Consultant) Review research; prioritize action initiatives; begin drafting initiative language and outline reasons why action is needed.
  • November 14-16th 3rd Meeting (with Consultant) Vote on Initiatives to be Proposed; finalize “case” language; propose timeline, indicate estimated cost, and identify parties responsible for implementing action.
Step III Final Action Plan Meeting Thursday, December 7, 2006
