Provincetown, MA  –  June 15, 2021   –  The Town of Provincetown is excited to announce that the community planning process for the East End Waterfront Park will commence on June 24th, 2021. The town is requesting community input on its proposed plan to design the current parcel of land located at 387-395A Commercial Street, also known as the East End Waterfront Park from herein. The East End Waterfront Park project aims to provide safe, welcoming and environmentally friendly access for both passive and active recreational activities, while addressing the environmental and public health concerns. The East End Waterfront Park’s draft master plan will guide the development and management of the future park.

The Town has hired the consulting firm Weston & Sampson to help facilitate the community planning process, and provide the town with conceptual plans derived from community input. Over the course of the next three months, Provincetown and Weston & Sampson will be hosting a series of events such as three community meetings, two park days, two virtual office hours, and an ongoing virtual survey about the park. All those visiting and or passing by the site this summer, will have an opportunity to scan a QR code that will bring you to the planning website, which will provide history of the park, current planning information, and the opportunity to provide your desires for the park in a community survey.

The kickoff event will be the First Community Meeting, on site at the park, June 24th,2021, with an Open House from 3-5pm, followed by a community discussion from 6-8pm. June 24th will be a chance for all to tour the site and provide input both in person, and virtually via Microsoft Teams.

Throughout this process, all interested can visit the East End Waterfront Website: https://www.provincetown-ma.gov/1386/East-End-Waterfront-Park-Planning, which will provide the most up to date planning information, surveys, and the opportunity to sign-up  to be notified about future planning events and information.
