Property Inspections
Assessors’ Office to Conduct Data-Quality Inspections
Beginning July 1,
2008, the Provincetown Assessors’ Office will be conducting a
neighborhood-by-neighborhood data-quality review of its records. The Massachusetts Department of Revenue
requires that the Town regularly inventory every property as part of the
assessment evaluation process. This
process includes an on-site review and description of the interior and exterior
of all buildings. In particular, the Assessors’
Office will be focusing on properties that have not been inspected within the
last six years and properties that sold in calendar year 2007. Inspections will occur Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM over the course of the
summer. The entire inspection per
property generally takes 15-20 minutes.
Your cooperation in assisting the Assessors’ Office in this process is
very much appreciated. For more
information, please call the Assessor’s Office at (508) 487-7017 M-F 8 AM to 5 PM or email: pgavin@provincetown-ma.gov
