Tourism Fund
Tourism Fund Chapter 178 of the Acts of 1996 as amended by 2010 Special Town Meeting Article 11 provides that thirty-five percent (35%) of Provincetown’s local room tax proceeds are deposited in the Tourism Fund for purposes which "market, beautify, and enhance tourism" in Provincetown. This is the source of funding for the Tourism Budget appropriated by the Annual Town Meeting for marketing, promotional events, municipal projects, beautification, coordination and support.

The Visitor Services Board
The Visitor Services Board (VSB) is an advisory Board to the Tourism Department.  The VSB was created to develop coordinate and implement a long-term comprehensive plan to enhance year-round tourism in Provincetown.  The VSB oversees expenditures of the Tourism Fund which under the direction of the Board of Selectmen as approved by Town Meeting.

TOURISM MARKETING GRANT PROGRAM

Fiscal Year 2025 Grant Applications are Open and close on Monday, December 4, 2023.


Applications for the FY25 Grant Program (July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025) are available from October 23, 2023 through  December 4, 2023.  The Tourism Fund Grant Program is to help support the marketing endeavors of organizations to bring new visitors to Provincetown as well as promoting re-visitation.

Event Grants - Funds are given to support marketing efforts with the primary focus on events outside of the peak season of July and August. 

Matching Marketing Grants - Funds can be used throughout the fiscal year to support marketing efforts that promote tourism.

Applicants are invited to apply for more than one event and/or Matching Marketing Grants or both. If you have previously applied through the online system, please use the same account for additional applications.
