TRANSFER STATION STICKERS

Stickers for the Transfer Station are $25 annually for Residents & Property Owners and may be obtained at the DPW office 

Mon.-Thurs. 8:00 am-1:00 pm. 

Proof of Residency or Ownership must be provided along with vehicle registration (ex: valid license, current bill, etc.).  CASH OR CHECK ONLY!

Town visitors may bring recyclables to the Transfer Station for free. Trash costs $2.00 to $4.00 per bag.

8:00am - 12:00pm - Closed Sunday and Monday

Provincetown provides curbside residential trash and recycling pick-up to all single-family homes and to apartments and condominiums with eight or fewer units. According to the following schedule, the town picks up household trash, recyclables, newspaper, and cardboard. Please note that cardboard and newspapers will be picked up on the same day as trash and recycling.

Holiday Schedule for curbside pickup is as follows:

  • Trash and recycling will be picked up on Memorial Day, Juneteenth,  the 4th of July, Labor Day, and the day after Thanksgiving.
  • Most other holidays will be picked up on the following work day of the observed holiday along with that day's route, except:
    • Veterans Day on Friday, November 11, 2022 ~ Friday pickups will be collected on Thursday, November 10

Holiday Schedule – Summer - Starting with Memorial Day and ending with Labor Day, trash will be picked up as scheduled regardless of it being a holiday.

Holiday Schedule – Winter - After Labor Day until just prior to Memorial Day, holidays will be observed. If your regular trash and recycling day falls on a holiday, your trash will be picked up on the following work day along with the regularly scheduled pick up.

GLASS

Clear and frosted bottles/jars, any color, rinsed please. Metal rings and paper labels OK. NO mirrors, window glass, lightbulbs, pyrex or ceramic items.

CARDBOARD & CHIPBOARD

Corrugated, flattened to a size no larger than 3 feet by 3 feet - either in a large carton or tied with tape (no string, please). NO waxed cardboard.

 NEWSPAPER & OTHER PAPER

If you can rip it, recycle it! Staples OK. Do not tie newspaper with string; put in paper bag or in bottom of recycle bin. NO plastic bags except for shredded paper.


plastics 

 PLASTIC

All beverage and liquid containers, rinsed please. Leave caps on. NO plastic bags nor plastic that contained hazardous products.


tincans 

 ALUMINUM & TIN CANS

Foil pie plates. Paper labels are acceptable, rinsed please.

DO NOT THROW IN TRASH. Take to shed at transfer station or return to hardware store.

Miscellaneous Items

Computers, TVs, tires, rechargeable and lithium batteries, mercury items and propane tanks. Fees may apply.

Styrofoam Peanuts

Bring to exchange shed across from swap shop - clean and bagged. Leave them or take them. Any other Styrofoam cannot be recycled.

Swap Shop

Household goods, toys, books, etc. No clothing or furniture at this time.
